The kids have abandoned us for their friends yet again at dinner time. Oh, woe! What shall we do!
Picnic Dinner!


Yes! No cooking, although I did throw together a tomato salad. It’s barely a recipe but I wanted to tell you how to make the balsamic syrup.

Balsamic Syrup
1 cup Balsamic Vinegar (the cheap stuff)
2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
2 tablespoons Heavy Cream

In a pan over medium high add the balsamic vinegar and sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce the mixture by half. Take it off the heat and add the cream, stir thoroughly. Serve over tomatoes or fresh fruit or… ice cream!
